Cambridge 2000: Geat Northern Road: CyclePoint bike park
The bottom half of the building contains around 3000,
mostly double stacked, cycle places, and is perfectly
adequate both on the outside and
the inside.
Before this was built, cyclists had various haphazard and
inadequate places to park at the station.
The cycle parking is all free.
The building cost around £3m, not to mention the
cost of maintenance, and
thus each regular user is being subsidised to the
tune of at least £1000.
The top half of the building is the back part of the
Ibis hotel.
