Brookside has a small park separating it from Trumpington Road, with a large number of mainly beech trees (Fagus). The last old beech tree in the middle section was cut down in late 2000. The magnificent Cedar of Lebanon (Cedrus libani) at the left is the sole survivor here, athough trees just south and just north also remain for now.
