Cambridge 2000: Martingale Close: border of
| Description: Martingale Close: border of: greenbelt (NIAB site) |
Many English cities have
modern estates
abutting the greenbelt, these estates can easily be spotted
because they are still fresh looking, although cramped.
The field contains oil rapeseed (Brassica napus)
which in its midlife forms
a dense matt which forms patterns like (static) ocean waves
and which is almost impassable.
This field was part of the
NIAB site.
It was developed as the second phase of the Franklin Gardens
site, with work on the housing starting in 2025.
