Cambridge 2000: railway station area: looking northwest

Aerial Photos: 10 June 2000: railway station area: looking northwest

This is a view of the railway station area. The railway station itself is in the middle of the photo, with Foster (Spillers) Mill dominating the view (many of the mill buildings were demolished in 2010 to make way for housing as part of the CB1 development). The Carter Bridge at the right is for pedestrians and cyclists. The large factory building the near side of the railway line was occupied by Leica until it was demolished in around 2003 to make way for housing. The smaller parallel building to its left is Rustat House. The lawn area in front of that is the Coleridge Recreation Ground. The large area of trees at the top left is the Botanic Garden.
