King's Hedges Road: Arbury Grid Substation
The city of Cambridge is expanding and this substation was built to
accomodate that. In many ways it is a more interesting building
than most of the housing in the nearby
Orchard Park
(Arbury Park) development. The substation building would have been
even better if it had some transparent panelling since what is hidden
from view is some impressive electric power equipment engineering
that should be visible. (It was during construction of the building.)
