A rambling Victorian villa, which most recently housed the Institute of Criminology, until it moved into a new building nearby in 2004.
There was a small extension of the building at the right in 1905 and another one in 1966, and more extensions at the back.
JJ Thomson (the discoverer of the electron) lived here at the beginning of the 20th century, until he became master of Trinity College in 1918.
It is planned to demolish this building (as has already happened to the neighbouring Victorian villas), to be replaced with a new building for various humanities departments.
