Aberdeen Square: Brass Building

Cambridge, England: Aberdeen Square: Brass Building (Alison Brooks)
(maps showing location: Google Streetmap Multimap )
Date photograph taken: 23 April 2010
Date built: 2008-2010
Architect: Alison Brooks

One of the last buildings to open on the Accordia development, this is the block that is the most stylish, architecturally. The cladding is brass, and the geometry of the façade is interesting without being over the top. The middle four floors contain two flats each, and the top floor contains one large penthouse flat.

The Accordia development (as a whole) was awarded the RIBA Stirling prize for 2008 (this is the top annual UK architecture prize).
