The Leica camera factory site on Rustat Road was redeveloped for residential housing in 2003-2007. The northern fifth of the site was designed for the English Churches Housing Group by Baily Garner and consisted mainly of two-storey and three-storey blocks of flats, but also included this sheltered unit for young people. The curved roof was a common feature of the buildings.
