Wolfson College: Barton Road: Chancellor's Centre of Graduate Study
With a particularly fine tower, this block is a continuation of
the range
done previously by the same architects. Inside is a 12 foot
high 19th century statue of Prince Albert, who was a Chancellor
of the university (a titular post). The statue was housed in the
Fitzwilliam Museum
before being moved to the grounds of Madingley Hall in 1956
due to lack of space in the museum, but the weather was damaging
it so it was moved here in 2004.
