In the early part of the 20th century what is now the northern part of Histon Road was largely unpopulated (except for a few buildings, e.g. a farm house). Ford was a developer who built many of the houses on Roseford Road (named after his wife, Rose). This was the first house on the road, it has the largest plot (but with a north facing garden).
