The last major extension to the museum in the twentieth century.
This contained some exhibition space and a reading room but there was also a small shop and restaurant, both crucial items for any museum in the current era.
The Judge Institute can be seen reflected in the glass.
In 2002-2004 a porch was added in front and the shop and restaurant were converted to a reception area and a room for Friends of the museum as part of the inner courtyard development by John Miller and Partners.
