Trinity College: Nevile's Court: dining hall

Cambridge, England: Trinity College: Nevile's Court: dining hall (Ralph Symons)
(maps showing location: Google Streetmap Multimap )
Date photograph taken: 15 June 2000
Date built: 1604-1605
Architect: Ralph Symons

As with many other Trinity things, this is the largest dining hall in Cambridge. A large picture of Henry VIII dominates the room at the end where Fellows (senior members of the college) eat on a raised dais (hence High Table).

The odd piece of wall decoration along the hall wall is called the Tribune and was designed by Christopher Wren when he built Wren Library. It is supposed to be the ideal location to view the library, and lies on the latter's centre line.
