St Catherines Road: The Meadows Community Centre
There was a large (approximately 30 acre, 12 hectare) site
which used to have allotments, many of which were derelict,
so about half the land was taken for housing. As part of the
process it was agreed to build a community centre.
The entire site is in fact
officially located in Impington, just over the Cambridge city
boundary,
but morally everything south of the A14 is in Cambridge.
The fencing, which only surrounds the southern part of the
building, is quite ornamental.
