Cambridge 2000: New Square: 25-30
New Square: 25-30: terrace
Once working class, the area near the
Grafton Centre
has become very fashionable because it is near the centre
of the city, and in spite of their small size and lack of
gardens, most houses near here would be valued at over
200000 pounds (320000 Euros).
The centre of this terrace has odd-looking pseudo-classical
decoration, a poor attempt at adding some interest to an
otherwise bland terrace.
From the early 1930s and before the Grafton Centre was
built the square itself was used for car parking.
