Histon Road: Simons House, 132-160
An old people's home, run by the city, which would not be
distinguished except that there was a common area with a
window overlooking the busy road, which provided a splendid
viewing opportunity for the residents.
The home was closed in September 2008 because it was too
expensive to bring it up to modern standards. It was
demolished in August-October 2009, to be replaced with a
block of "affordable" flats for people aged over 55.
